My Fav Bloggers!!

These are my favs I've been reading and one I may or may not have started reading all 6,000 archived post today -

My absolute favorite is The Bargain  Blonde http://thebargainblonde.blogspot.com/ (you can find her here) -
she is one of my besties - whether she knows it or not - (or I'm her stalker - either is good with me) I follow her on Twitter and we even play Draw Something (this is her lastest masterpiece)
Isn't she a wonderful artist!! She lives in Dallas - and is quiet possibly the coolest chic in the Western Hemp!! Check her out  - she has great adventures ( I live vicariously through her - she's about to head to S.C. soon - the bish just got back from Hawaii!!) she gives great tips (hair, makeup, clothes, accessories) and is even a DIY princess!! Ok - enough about Linds!! (yes I know her well enough to call her Linds!!) (don't judge - haters!!)

My next fav is probably the most fabulous and wierdest person alive in this world - The Bloggess - http://thebloggess.com/ (find her here) Her name is Jenny Lawson and I swear to you I have literally CRIED real TEARS reading the convo's between her and her husband Victor - it's truely something you have to experience yourself!! The women collects STUFFED animals - that would be strange enough if it was cute stuffed playthings - no I mean real live (well dead) TAXIDERMIED animals - like seriously she has a collection - and they have names and clothes - This is her most recent purchase -
Yes - odd is not even the right word - his name is Copernicus. But you must read the blog to appreciate the humor - lest you think I'm as off my rocker as The Bloggess is. She has a book out that I can not wait to order!! First extra $17 bucks that doesn't have to be spent on softball/baseball equipment I'm getting it!!

Ok - onto the next - Ya'll may have heard of this little gem - http://www.peopleiwanttopunchinthethroat.com/ - (find her here) (Oddly her name is Jen too) (does anyone else find that odd?) I digress - You may know her as the mom who went off on the Elf on the Shelf  Moms -
(which I must agree with- we don't have an elf) this is her "claim to fame" - she has a mouth on her - but in all actualilty (is that a word?) she says all the things we want to say if we had no censor in our brain!! She also takes alot of  heat for the things she writes but I've never read where she backs down from her opinions!

And my newest - http://dooce.com/about - I found her by reading Punches post today about her fav bloggers - and this is where I may or may  not started reading her archives dating back to 2001. I don't know much about her but one of the first things I read was this:

How could I not follow her daily to see what other profound thinking was going on - because I too have always wondered what The Rock was cooking!!

SO there you have it - if you have any blogs you read - pass them along!!
But remember - they must teach me about make up, dead animals, how to tell me off, and give me useful information for a later uses.

Recap!!

Well, it's done and emailed off into Cyber Space!! The narrative I wrote on our Junior Auxiliary Provisional Project!! I just hope "the Powers that BE" at NAJA like what I wrote!! It was a fun challenge and I hope it wins an award at AEC!!

I SOOO wish I could go but alas motherhood comes first and by that I mean baseball season!!

All three are playing and Michael is actually getting to coach this year so it's going to be an intersting and busy next 3-4 months!! This will be me by July!!

But that's ok - because come the 2nd week of July I will be here!!

SOOOO poor, pityful me will clean another uni, pack another cooler, eat another nacho, and bide my time!!!

Oh yeah!! for those who haven't heard (and how couldn't you since I've posted it every possible place!!)
I ran/walked my first 5K this past Saturday!! and I was so glad THIS didn't happen!!

Because those that know me will attest that I can fall on an even and flat surface. Much less on a hilly blacktop!!

I was sore like an old man come Saturday evening but it was SOOO worth it and I've even been looking up the next one to do!! Shane Michael is my partner but we've about talked Michael into running with us soon...well, we'll keep working on him anyway!!

Now that I've completed the first one I feel like a total bad a**!! And I absolutely feel like I should be here!!

Until next time peeps!!

Jilly's 11th Birthday!!

Well the Princess did it "up right" for her birthday this year!! This girl has her daddy and I wrapped up tight like a $2 drum!! Not one but FOUR birthday celebrations starting weekend before last with a trip to Shreveport to Buffalo Wild Wings and the Krewe of Highlands Mardi Gras parade!! We met my sister Toni, my neice Kayci, and nephew Caleb, along with Michael, Dash, and Shane Michael!! It was a family affair!
She has gotten to the age where we travel in "packs" and her and Lannise are about joined at the hip so naturally here they are together!! Awaiting our "wangs"!!

The first birthday party song!! Then onto the parade!! Which was freezing cold and we only had to wait about 3 hours for it to start!! 40 floats and we lasted through 15!!

Celebration #2 and party song (along with a little dessert smash to the face)!! Grandma took to us to lunch at our FAV restuarant El Jarritos in Ruston! LOVE LOVE LOVE the fajita nachos so it was  treat for mommy as well!! This trip included Bella (attached to the other hip) her brothers and daddy of course! Thank you Grandma from us all!!
Party #3!! SLEEP OVER!!! Just 3 friends this year!! (We missed you Madison and Sophie) but the two on the hips (Lannise and Bella) and an extra just in case (Kayle) partied it up as only four 10-12 year olds can do!!
Aren't they cute!! Not sure what's happening with Bells in this picture but it was the best of the group!!! Love having an 11 year old!! She got everything from baby dolls, Kidz Bop 21, speakers for her Ipod to jam out with, clothes and bows!!! An awesome mix of still a little girl and getting to be preteen!!! Such a great age!!

This was her cute cake with was almost all gone that night and then got finished off for breakfast!! We still love our Walmart cakes :) - those 2 layeres beauties are something else but these are delish - cheap - hardly any waste - and the $80 bucks I would have spent on one of those beauties got used to fullfill the Princess wish list!!
After we got all the cuties back home, onto celebration #4!!  We picked up the youngest brother (Really, Mom?? We have to go get him??) (Oldest brother was at his other parents for the night!) Jilly decides it's Logans for lunch!!
and another birthday song!!! Except they don't really sing to you - they announce it to the entire restuarant then give you a rowdy YEEHAW!!! which was really cute!!

Next stop pet store!!

Then onto the movies!!!

We all loved this movie!! It's was super cute with no bad language and no "scenes" that required explantion!!!

Finally we called it a day!! Jilly went home, put on her pj's and chilled on the couch!!

I hope she had a great time!! We all sure did!!

Redneck Representation and an Anniversary!!

Now ya'll know I am just as country as the next person - But I do believe there is a difference in some of us country folks -Saturday night I am scrolling through Facebook and I keep seeing all these post about My Big Redneck Vacation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzvOL6p5S3M- and Bayou Billionaires so of course I have to find out what all the fuss is about - because they're about people from Shreveport. Little did I know how much of a disappointment it would be ( I have to keep watching because it's kinda like a train wreck you can't turn away from :/) Really, now I know they're are people in Louisiana who have a little less class than some (heck, I'm pretty sure there are some of those in EVERY state!!) but why for the love of pete do these shows always have to come from Louisiana!!! The link I posted doesn't show the one scene that really got in my crawl - where the "ladies" (and I use that term loosely) go the market in The Hamptons and ask the butcher for NUTRIA RAT and RACCOONS!!!! Are you kidding me??? WE DO NOT EAT THOSE THINGS!!! and better yet, you CAN NOT find those in markets HERE (it's illegal to resale wild game!!!) so why did these woohoo's think they could buy them there! Just to make us ALL look like stark raving lunatics? Now, that I'm through ranting about these goobers from (I was told) DeSoto parish - if anyone is interested in seeing real Southern women (families) and how we behave and yes that includes but is not limited to: having fun with our families, church going, family dinners that do not include beer, watching kids play ball, having friends over to grill out, hunting, fishing, water sports on Lake Claiborne) - I'll be glad to give you our address!! As for the Bayou Billionares http://www.cmt.com/show/bayou_billionaires/series.jhtml - seeing as how I'm not getting any money from the Haynesville Shale - and I'm trying to be has happy as possible for those who are, they didn't grate my nerves quite as bad other than their crazy trip to the Shreveport Country Club which I think was for the sole purpose of acting like gomers just for TV.
Sorry for my rant, I'm actually pretty proud to be from Louisiana - it's a gorgeous state - if you get out of the mud pits!!!

Ok - on to the good part!! Michael and I celebrated 12 years of wedded bliss yesterday. Well, maybe not "bliss" but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Every year we have challenges and every year we perservere. We've both grown these past 12 years - in our hearts and our pants size!! but there's just more to love and I'm looking forward to 50 more years with him!! I say this regularly, that we are so blessed to be surrounded by couples who are reaching their Golden Anniversary or have already reached this awesome milestone. It gives us such hope and anticipation for the future!!

Well, thanks for reading this blog - sorry for the "rant"  and thanks for all the WELL WISHES on our anniversary!!

Peace, Love, and Country Living (my way)

Psalm 143:7 -8 - a bit of a ramble at best!!

Wow!! Did this speak to me this morning?!?!?!?! (Not so much the depresssing part as the "Show me where to walk part!!" )
As I was perusing Pinterest like I'm prone to do, oh, say about 20 hours aday...I found this picture. I knew it was a Psalm but I had no idea which one. So, instead of doing the "smart" thing, I did the "Jennifer" thing, I read every 7th verse of every Psalm - and it took me a while -and I did eventually Google it because I have a NIV Bible so it was worded different and I didn't catch it when I was reading. But when I did figure it out I actually already had it underlined in my Bible. Now that in itself speaks volumes to me, but what is really cool about this - while I was ready every 7th verse of every Psalm - just about every one related to my life!!! God's ways are amazing. I'll admit...I'm not a "lover" of the Psalms - as of yet...because usually they confuse me!! I totally own up to that. David totally has his own way of writing that sometimes I just don't get it...but then there's the time when God opens my mind and I actually "get it!!" and it's totally like a light bulb! And this was one of those times!! My Bible reading this morning talked about being able to discern His word - If you're feeling adventurous read Matthew 13:24-46 - its The Parable of The Weeds. I bet He'll open your mind too!!

Oh yeah!! Today is Friday and I'm so glad about that!! My crazy husband woke up at 2:00 am to go duck hunting so we'll see what kind of great mood he's in this evening!! Especially since at about 9:30 they had killed no ducks!! The Princess of course has plans and I have a party to go to tonight so we'll see what the boys have planned to get into to!! I love the weekend!! (Who doesn't?) So I hope ya'll have a good one!!

Today...I start...

I love to read blogs...actually I'm pretty obsessed with a few!! So I thought, what the hay, I can do this.
Since this IS my first official blog, I'll tell about our family.

Michael also known as "my rock" and known to the kids as "daddy" (of course!!)

Me - Jennifer- wife to "the rock" and mommy cubed!!

Dash - "the teenager" - what more can I say - loves baseball and anything outdoorsy :)

Jilly (Lou to us - don't ask) - obviously "the princess" - to me anyway - her brothers, not so much :(

Shane Michael - well he's still "my baby" but he doesn't so much like that name anymore (too bad, get over it)

We live in the great state of Louisiana in the booming metropolis of Dubach - home to the Chicken Festival!! woohoo!! Yes you read that right!!
Michael works for a natural gas company and I am the secretary at our church FBC-Dubach. Our kids go to Simsboro Elem/High School - Geaux Tigers!!
We keep it pretty simple, pretty country, and thats fine by me!! I'm learning to be happy in MY moment!! I love my Lord and want to serve Him daily but I feel I fall extremely short of His plans for me, but I also know He'll ultimately turn me into the woman He knows I can be. And for that I'm eternally grateful!!
This was fun!! Until next time :)
